Orchids or Birds in Flight? I took these pictures at the botanical garden's conservatory. I was absolutely blown away by the beauty of these flowers and the smell was overwhelmingly intoxicating. The colors were wild and everything about the experience was inspiring.
Kimono
I love finding beautiful vintage photos (I found this one at the local antique store down the street) and recognizing fashion trends that have reemerged. Kimono sleeve dresses are big now and I plan to see them a lot in the spring and summer. If not, I know I'll be wearing them.
Illustrator Tutorial
This is an awesome tutorial. I didn't know that you could make really cool texture brushes in illustrator. I love finding stuff like this. Check it out here.

Skin & Ink: David Hale
Lately, I've seen some absolutely gorgeous tattoos (thanks pinterest!). One of my favorite artists right now is David Hale and his shop is set up in Athens, GA. I really want to get a tattoo from him. So hopefully I will follow through with my appointment I have with him in October (set up last November...crazy!). His work is amazing, illustrative, and just damn beautiful. You can look at more of his work here.

Thursday
Inspiration for this post came from the featured vintage photograph. I found it at my favorite antique store and I couldn't help but instantly notice similarities between the way this 1950s woman dressed
and what's fashionable now. I really like this trend and I hope to see it in the spring too!
Note: I found all of my photos on pinterest, but I'm linking to the original post they came from. Also,
color collective blog was a big help in choosing the colors for this post (thanks!)

Thursday
I was reading this beautiful book and was once again inspired by African artistry. I love how they combine visual appeal, function, and communication. There's so much beautiful stuff (very rich in tradition) in this one continent because of the incredible diversity. I think that I may create some patterns in the future with these designs.

New Direction
I had fun designing the topic images. I really want to use them. Anyway, we'll see how this all turns out.
